Visual Identity Design
At the start of 2021 we had the pleasure of working with Nicole Rowe of HoneyChild Skin Care to revamp her visual identity.
She had done tremendous work developing her value proposition of hand-crafted, organic, clean; a promise that her products were good for the nourishing the skin, with ingredients that could easily be pronounced.
After our initial discovery meeting we compiled a stylescape that captured the design direction and personality for the new visual identity. This became our point of reference for developing the identity system.
We were able to create a new visual identity system that elevated the brand, expanded its appeal and improve its market presence.
To develop the brand we worked with the client to compile keywords for the brand based on her vision during our discovery sessions. The next step was to create the above stylescape based on the personality of the ideal client profile, who we dubbed Gayle, a late 30’s fashion-forward and effervescent medical professional.
The logo was designed to be purposefully modular, to give the brand the flexibility to be represented effective and clearly across platforms, from small screens to product labels to large displays, choosing a colour palette that stayed true to the promise of healthy, natural, beautiful, rooted in colours such as terra cotta, light salmon and seashell, grounded by earth, dark olive green and asparagus.
In addition to the logo redesign, we extended the visual identity into labeling and packaging, advising on the eventual design of her retail store, and consulting with the client on their trade show booths for NYNOW Expo in 2022 and 2023.
